Maurice Benard has flashed his dimples and made his female fans swoon with delight as Sonny Corinthos. Sonny is a law into himself, he demands respect from those who he feels should be giving it to him mainly his wife Carly and his children,but Sonny doesn't tolerate any nonsense from his enemies, you wanna play games , screw with his family and his head you're barking up the wrong tree buddy.
That's Sonny in a nutshell and he's got his best pal and surrogate brother Jason by his side to take any of those creatures to task , and occasionally Sonny does help the PCPD out despite the fact they think he's a dangerous criminal ( insert sarcasm here).
Now lets get down to business here , when Sonny was 18 he made a decision that would change his life forever,. He killed Margaux Dawson's father Vincent an event that would launch him further into the mob and made him the man he is today .
On the episode from November 12, 2018 Sonny had a dream about what his life would be like if he hadn't killed Margaux's dad. An episode I and my friends have labeled Sonny's Bizarro World.
Sonny was married to Olivia , was a cop and not married to Carly who by the way was just a hot frigging mess. an alcoholic married to AJ and the Jeromes were running Port Charles and Michael had high tailed it out of town in fear of them.
Sam and Dante were married and it was Dante who was in the mob not Sonny.
Don't get me wrong I get where the writers were going with it, it was sort of like Its a Wonderful Life, but I kinda felt weirded out by the whole thing especially when they showed Jason and Ava having a thing together.
What disturbed me the most about the episode was they had Anna Devane being so UnAnna Like and they had Robin having died of Aids because Sonny wasn't there to help her.
Again I have to say it this episode creeped me out , as I said before I get where they were going with it and I appreciate the fact that they had Sonny seeing things through Dante's and Mike's eyes , but come on really?
A 25th anniversary episode for an actor who acts his ass off deserves more than this episode delivered. Yes Sonny told his younger self do it or don't its up to you, and he told Mike to let him choose his path. that part I loved, but I would have loved to have seen Adela and Sonny's younger years as well as his rise to power as opposed to everyone else not acting like themselves.

I for one prefer the bad ass Sonny Corinthos as opposed to the one that was portrayed in his dream , and most importantly I loved Maurice Benard as Sonny looking at his reflection in the window at Jeanette's house it clarified for me that Sonny was happy with who he became the most powerful well loved man in town because of his big heart not because of his money or power. Sonny changed so many people's lives, saved them from death and uncertainty and that's they way his fans like it.
