Good Morning guys , I'm.sorry this Recap is late I went with my mother to get her vaccine. Now onto the recap.
Happy 25th Anniversary Nancy Lee Grahn , yes guys if you've not figured it out yet this recap is about Alexis Davis who I've dubbed Mother courage.
What can I say about Nancy Lee Grahn that I've not said before.
She is a truly amazing person and fabulous actress. Yeah you haters can call me a suck up all you want . Think what you like because I really don't care , and I don't think Nancy really cares what you think about her either.
This is a celebration of a character who mirrors who and what my own mother is and I guess thats why I love Alexis so much .
Alexis began this poignant journey with talking to Sam while Kristina and Molly snuck around the back way of the house .
Alexis left for lunch with Valentin, Ned , Finn and Jax . Only people missing were Ric and Sonny .
I loved her scenes with Olivia , Nikolas and Ava as well. They were so supportive of her.
Not to mention Nancy's fellow castmates who took to Twitter this morning to commemorate her 25th Anniversary.
Then it goes to later that day where she went to see Kevin for a counseling session .
I loved this , flashing back and forth between the Kelly's scene and the counseling session.
The boys were so supportive and as usual our girl pulled mama on them by saying for once can you play nice for me .
Alexis danced around what was troubling her with Kevin
They say avoidence is away of trying not to remember or face what happened to you .
Finally we found out she witnessed her mother was beaten up by Mikkos.
And that watch that was left to her , would be the link to her remembering that cycle of abuse by the hands of her father.
No child should have to witness her father putting his hands on their Mother.
We saw Alexis finally getting clarity of the situation and recognizing it wasnt her fault that she couldn't help her mother. That it was too much of a burden to carry on her shoulders.
She also realized that's why she picked the bad boys that she did , Sonny , Ric and Jerry.
She spoke to her 5 year old self , and she said I'm Alexis Davis and I will get you through this .
We then saw a flashback of our mother courage from the older episodes such good memories.
I bawled like a baby, first when Molly came down in her cap and gown and then when she cried about what happened to her mom.
And also when Alexis went to her cell and she offered to help her cell mate who was preparing for her parole hearing .
Back to the watch though, I think Alexis' mother's spirit was with her when she finally gained that clarity that she wasnt to blame.
I think when the watch started ticking again after Alexis was entering pentonville was Her mom being happy that Alexis no longer blamed herself.
