The Women behind GHC : A bit of history

Hey everyone , I know some people are wondering about how GHC came about, well it all started 11 years ago. In fact 11 years ago this month that  the Admins at GHC formed a friendship over at the ABC General Hospital Message Board.

We have walked through war zone of fan wars, we've been attacked for liking certain characters that others do not and called some pretty vile names I might add.

Stalked and preyed upon by haters of certain actresses that aren't their faves but they are ours, those people needs to get over it and grow the hell up.

We fans are apart of the GH family and that includes being in contact with actors via Facebook and twitter, and instagram.

When the message board closed down , we all went our separate way , and some of us kept in contact through email and two years ago upon meeting up again set up General Hospital Canada on Facebook.

People often scoff at soap fans and say we are silly , over dramatic and take the shows far too seriously. Let me let you on in a little secret , if we weren't talking about GH or watching the show it would probably cease to exist.

Some people pretend to be fans and they often aren't ! My question is why post clips of a show they aren't invested in since they were a wee lass with bright eyes and dirt on her knees! And when people ask them questions they tell them to go to the show website or wikipedia and have openly admitted to not watching ABC's General Hospital. Someone whose nasty spirit shines through and could care less how they look to other people.

Unlike me and my buddies , we welcome everyone, treat everyone with the same respect that we have been given. We are people who remember the good ole days of  Steve and Audrey Hardy and Lee and Gail Baldwin.

I remember those days running home from school, sometimes in the pouring rain to get home in time to see the latest adventure of GH's Luke and Laura, or watching Bobbie get up to her usual bad girl tricks. 

As I got older I know this goes for the rest of the GHC crew we as adults remember the first time that our other fave characters came on screen like  Carly and Sonny Corinthos did. A known bad girl and the Mob Boss dejour, Elizabeth Webber and her bratty ways ,  and the metamorphosis of Jason Quartermaine to Jason Morgan.
